In a staggering statistic, 150 law enforcement officials have lost their lives since 1997 at the hands of motorists who struck them. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund keeps track of these incidents, and believe if more drivers were aware of the Move Over law, these fatalities could have been avoided.

Mason Dixon Polling & Research conducted a national poll concerning the Move Over law, and it was revealed that 71 percent of all drivers in the US have no idea what this law is. Since the law is on the books in all 50 states, this number is truly alarming. The Move Over law is simple; drivers must slow down when they see law enforcement on the side of the road and pull the vehicle into a different lane to give the officers room to work.

Gillman Honda of Houston is making a huge effort to try and educate drivers of the Move Over law to protect officers.
