Of course, we're well aware that many of our friends and neighbors can't say the same thing; that's why we created this quick checklist of what to do if your vehicle has been damaged.
- If your vehicle was flooded, do not even try to start it as you're likely to cause even more damage. It's best to call our service department and let us send a tow truck out transfer your vehicle to our service department. We offer complimentary flood inspections, and you can trust that our factory-trained technicians are set to make any necessary repairs.
- It's imperative that you call your insurance company as soon as possible to begin your claim process, making sure to write down your claim number and the name(s) of anyone you spoke with at your insurance company. With that information, we can work with your insurance company to resolve matters on our end, though you may need to be contacted on occasion in order for claims to be approved promptly.
- If you were forced to abandon your vehicle and returned to discover that the city towed it, you can locate it by going to http://www.findmytowedcar.com/. Be prepared for the fact that you will be required to enter either your license plate number or 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN); if you don't know your license plate information, your VIN can be found on your insurance card.
