Cars made by Honda are known for their lasting reliability, their ability to stand the test of time; but even by the Japanese automaker's standards, 40 years is a fairly lengthy amount of time to stay on the top of its game. Believe it or not, this month marks the fortieth anniversary of its flagship midsize sedan, the Honda Accord.
In the span of the past four decades (and nine model generations), the Honda Accord has no doubt undergone its fair share of changes, updates, and redesigns--but what hasn't seemed to change is how we as Americans feel about this particular model. In fact the Honda Accord has reached sales of more than 12.7 million units since the car's 1976 debut. [1]
