Understanding Tread and Pressure

If you're looking for small ways to improve your gas mileage, don't overlook your tire pressure. Low pressure in a tire causes your engine to have to work harder in order to move it down the road, which in turn uses more fuel.

Save money at the pump and also extend the use of your tires by properly inflating them. Check regularly with a tire gauge and use your owner's manual as a guide for the correct pressure. Your tread is another area you'll want to check occasionally. Loss of traction can make a big difference when driving in rain or snow. Take a Lincoln penny and place it headfirst into a tread. If you can see the top of his head, your tread is too low.

At Gillman Honda Houston, we're happy to help you with your tires. Whether you require a new set or just want us to check your tire pressure, we'll be here for you.
